They don't actually understand what potty training is all about!
Surprising, isn't it?
They know what outcome they're looking for - but they've never considered how their child is going to learn the required skills... or thought about where they're starting from.
Don't embark on potty training unless you understand the learning process that underpins it!
If you think potty training is all about teaching (or bribing or cajoling or reminding) your child to choose to use a potty rather than a nappy, you need to watch these videos before you get caught out.
Why? Because you're missing a vital piece of the puzzle.
Well, three pieces actually... You see, choosing to use a potty (or toilet) - is the fourth and final step in the learning process.
And if you're not anticipating steps one to three, you're going to end up saying or doing something you regret - or even giving up altogether.
There is no reason to be in the dark about something as universal as potty training.
There's no need to dread it or put it off for months.
And there's no need to wing it, when the right advice is there for the taking (though you do need to filter out the misinformation to find it).
Once you clearly see what it's all about, potty training will seem a lot less daunting.
"Video 2 was revolutionary - but of course, so true."
"The videos are fab - makes it all fall into place!"
"Now we can see progress where before there was frustration!"
"I'd definitely recommend these to potty training families."
For a 20 minute investment and only £4.95 (that's less than a pack of nappies), you can take a huge step towards potty training success.
These videos will explain all four steps in your child's learning process. You'll get a real insight into what's going on in your toddler's body and brain when you start potty training - and you'll be primed for success rather than stress when it's your child's turn.
If you have a child in nappies and know they'll need to transition to pants at some point - then Yes! This class is well worth the investment of 20 minutes of your time and £4.95 (that's less than the cost of two packs of wipes. Not potty training, delaying potty training, or abandoning potty training mid way through is far far more expensive...)
Our second baby (boy of just over two years old now) was part-time ECd since three weeks. I took the plunge for full on pants in the day after reading Jenn's website and then signed up to the video class explaining a toddler's conceptions of potty training. I really got to grips with exactly what stage he was at.
Jenn's research, calm and down to earth attitude with 4 kids, lets you see how realistic and user friendly it is - whatever your situation. - Tania R, mother of 2 and a bump.
Love your approach (and it works!)!
Thanks so much for inspiring changes! - Kesha
Why might you be hesitant?
You're looking for a blow by blow instruction manual for potty training. Instead it will form a strong basis for any approach - whether you follow a program, wing it from a website, or a take a friend's advice.
These videos explain a learning process. Watch them before you put your potty training plan into action. Use them to assess that plan to see if it considers your child's point of view. Choose your potty training approach in the light of your new knowledge (and avoid the charlatans with impossible guarantees).
To help people potty train successfully - on their first attempt!
I've been immersed in potty training for more than nine years. Most people learn enough to get their toddler from nappies to the potty and then move on, but I have a real and long lasting interest in potty training because:
I come across misunderstandings about potty training all the time! I explain his process at every advice session I run for parents or childcare professionals.
These videos allow all parents (and their children!) to benefit from this information - not just those who live near me.
I've explained this development process to a great many parents. I find it easiest in person because talking about attitudes to nappies and potty training can be a sensitive subject - after all, everyone already does their best for their child. I've also had thousands of interactions by keyboard and know as well as you do that cold hard text can cause offense where conversation would have brought solidarity.
So this video class is great because it lets me talk to you!
We remember conversations.
Once I've exlpained this process - a process that's fundamental to potty training - you'll remember it. You'll remember it more clearly than if you read it as a blog post or found it buried in a book or outlined in a facebook comment. You won't need to go thumbing through chapter six thinking "what were the progressions again...?" You'll have them memorised in minutes.
